You have no idea how amazed/surprised I was when last week it was revealed that your capital has the seventh best street eats on the planet.
I was not surprised when I read in yesterday's Globe and Mail that the number one restaurant in the world was not in Ottawa. It happens to be El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain. What did surprise me was the fact that none of the restaurants on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list were from Canada.
I truly expected the Carleton Tavern, of whom The Ottawa Citizen said was the place where "...the service is slow and surly, the food is execrable and the portions are small..." to be there. It was not. Some list.
