Elizabeth May may get on my nerves but generally speaking the Green movement has offered tremendous benefit to our society and not just environmentally. It has also offered us a lot of economic plusses too.
Here is an example of that from the Associated Press Writer Mary MacPherson Lane who notes that in the East Berlin neighbourhood of Prenzlauer Berg, an area of the city that consistently supports Green Party candidates, one bordello is hoping to stave off falling demand in the economic crisis by offering discounts to customers who pedal bicycles to the door. Using public transit also gets one a 7.50$ discount on services offered at Maison d'Envie.
Unlike our home and native land, the 450,000 prostitutes working in Germany, some 10,000 of whom are in Berlin, have the same legal rights and social benefits as people in other professions.
