33,000 pounds of beef tongues recalled
UPI reports that Omaha-based J.F. O'Neill Packing Co. is recalling 33,000 pounds of beef tongues that may not have had the tonsils completely removed. The tonsils are one of the places that mad cow disease emerges from.
For your erudition and in case it is a question/answer on Jeopardy! tonight, a Canadian cow living at the Sunny Dene Ranch near Mabton, Wash was the first cow in the U.S. to have a confirmed case of Mad Cow disease.
Apparently the cow moved from Canada to Washington in search of more opportunity.
