The NBC sit com from the '90s [I think; never watched it and too lazy to look up on Google] is, according to former GOP candidate for POTUS, responsible for the current interest in gay marriage in the USA. Rick Santorum has been reported widely, with supporting video, to have made remarks supporting that insane argument in DC at CPAC 2013 in the middle of last month.
