There is a big push in Ottawa, supported by Warren Kinsella's fave mayor, Jim Watson, to get AA baseball in the city.
Ottawa had a AAA team for a while, the Lynx, and have a pretty decent stadium.
Which is why I am surprised that our boy mayor did not jump at the opportunity to be the temporary home for the New York Yankees' AAA team who are homeless this year.
Or multi homed.
They are going to be called the Empire State Yankees but truth be told they should be called Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Rochester/Syracuse/Batavia/Lehigh Valley Yankees.
Their multiple homes.
Ottawa Yankees would have had a nice, temporary ring to it.
