5755...BYU Has To Win In Hoop And Football

NPR, that is the Yankee version of the CBC, tells that "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released this week the most significant changes to its scripture since 1981. The Mormon scriptures comprise four books: the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. Although there are grammatical revisions that will be contained in the 2013 edition of Mormon scriptures — available online now and in print format in August — the substantive changes come in terms of the introductions to the actual scriptural material."

Let me tell you that without reading the whole article I can tell you that they, the Mormons, changed the non black thing in 1978.  Here is, in my proper opinion, the reason.  Brigham Young University hoop and football is very important and when your primary athletes are LDS and blacks are the devil you limit yourself to only whites.  Other schools were integrating or had integrated by the mid 1970s and, frankly, white boys don't play corner back well; only one NFLer, Jason Sehorn, has played the position in recent years and white guys are not the end all and be all in hoop either.  So the Lord spoke through the president of the LDS in '78 and said "Mr. President, let us stop getting burned on long routes in football and in basketball let us have some one who can bring up the ball."  And so it was.

The Lord works in mysterious ways.
