5736...Peter Penashue Leaving Ottawa

CBC reports that ``Conservative cabinet minister Peter Penashue has resigned his seat in the House of Commons to run again in a byelection, he announced Thursday in a news release, and has paid the government $30,000 in compensation for "ineligible contributions" he accepted.``

Todd Russell, the Liberal MP he beat by 79 votes last time out, pointed out that no one gives up a seat at the cabinet table unless something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

And the beat goes on and on and on.
