You were not alone at the season's start. However, to your credit and unlike the Ottawa sports media, you have shown the courage to admit you were wrong.
Last August and September, the Ottawa sports media writers were in serious competition to heap the most disparaging comments possible on the team. Ottawa residents were warned that this year's team would finish in last place, but only because it was impossible to finish worse than that. Fortunately they stopped short of calling for the firing of the GM and coach before any games had actually been played. The early season poor showing brought out a chorus of "I told you so" stories.
It's funny how none of these guys have been refering back to their pre-seasons prognostications since the team has been in the playoff hunt. Lately we get stories comparing the approaches of the Sens and Leafs GMs and which has proven to be more successful. Today the Senators are cancelling the tee-off times for early April that were booked on the advice of our prescient sports media - maybe the Habs could put them to good use.
