4185...Succeeding Jack Layton

It was in your paper this morning and my Montreal Gazette: "Prime Minister Stephen Harper has called a by-election for the riding formerly held by late NDP leader Jack Layton. The by-election for the Toronto-Danforth seat will take place March 12, less than two weeks before the NDP's leadership convention on March 24."

The Dippers are running Craig Scott, a 49 year old lawyer.

The riding was held by Dennis Mills, a Liberal, until 2004. Surprisingly, or, perhaps, considering how wobbly the Big Red Machine is these days, the Liberals haven't got a horse in the race yet.
