4254...The Race Card

Although we like to think that we are not racist in Our Home And Native Land, we are, egregiously racist in some respects.

Just think about how we f'ck around Native people in Canada. Oh, yeah, and don't forget the black face incident at Ottawa Fashion [Three Day] Week.

The difference between us [Canucks] and them [Yanks] is they are not afraid to talk about it.

Here is a cut and paste from my great cyber friend Len Berman that addresses that:

2. The Race Card

Take a look at William Rhoden's column yesterday in the New York Times. He talks about Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin and their breakout success. But their "greatness" is not limited to on the field endeavors. They are praised for their faith and humility. William asks is the over the top adulation the result of race? That Tebow and Lin are white and Asian. Why aren't blacks so similarly adulated? It's a question certainly worth asking.

If it was Ottawa we would just ignore the whole issue, eh?
