It is offical, he's in. Former Deputy Premier of Ontario, George Smitherman is going to run for and win the mayoralty of the most important city on the planet that is located between Burlington and Oshawa [sorry Oakville].
The Globe and Mail quotes the Toronto native as saying that Hogtown is "...in desperate need of strong leadership." He also said that said the city "...is in need of transformation where some are pleased to celebrate incrementalism..." and, although the Globe and Mail said it is "...a not so subtle jab at Mr. Miller." I have no frigging clue what Mr. Smitherman said there.
It is rumoured that John Tory, the former Tory leader in Ontario, will be running for the mayoralty in Toronto also.
Does Mr. Tory ever get sick of losing?
