At 71.
OMG.
"How do I still look good?" Jane Fonda told German newspaper Bilt. Delusion plays a big part in the process. She believes an active sex life has helped her look younger than her 71 years.
That and the fact that there are no mirrors at the mansion, eh? Get a grip darling, your face looks like the inside of an old shoe. Truly you look 71 and more. Keith Richards Disease affects those who scorn sunblock Janey.
The Barbarella star, that was about 50 years ago, when Hanoi Jane actually was smoking, is apparently planning a fourth marriage, to music executive Richard Perry, 67. Mr. Perry produced such stars as, ah, listen to the "Light Rock, Less Talk" station in your town and you will hear them all.

ReplyDeleteWomen suffer enough stigma about our looks, especially as we get older.
We are bombarded by advertising telling that aging is abnormal and bad. It tells us we should inject ourselves with a food poison to paralyse our facial muscles so we will look less wrinkly. We are told to have our faces lifted, dye our hair and load our faces with all manner of chemical concoctions - all to make us look younger.
Why can't we wear our laugh lines? We earned them.
So Fonda doesn't look the same as she did when she was 20 (people in their 70s rarely do). Is that what you really want?
Some days, I really appreciate what you have to say. Other days (like today) all I can do is shake my head and hope you open your eyes and your mind a little further.

ReplyDeleteWhat is it with you & women? Your previous post on Dion, your constant denigrating of Elizabeth May, & any time you do mention other women in any of your posts it's either of a sexual nature (sexist) or it's a put down. I'm in agreement with Aunty Bertha on this one.
All this does is lower any respect for you I may have as you don't show respect.

If you reread the post, Jane Fonda is bragging how young she looks.
She doesn't look young; she looks 71.
And 71 is not young. Even for a rock.
Also I have been very supportive of women pols. I sincerely think that the challenges that Mara Carfagna, Belinda Stronach, Rona Ambrose, Ruby Dhalla et. al. face are compounded by the fact that their is envy, much of it from women, that they are pretty and smart.
Back when Jane fonda was pretty she went through the same. You recall, it was said she got roles coz she was her daddy's daughter; probably true but she didn't get the second job and the thrid and thirteenth coz of her daddy. She was a talent and she did change the culture by being one of the first aerobic queens.
