"Tell you this much. I've been a Liberal all my life and next time, for a whole bunch of reasons, I'm voting Harper."
That is what a Mountie told Don Martin of the Calgary Herald [and beaucoup d'other journalistic outlets] when he flagged the scribe down around midnight couple of nights ago.
Mr. Martin posits that that is the problem with the next Prime Minister Michael Ignatieff and the Liberal party; the sheep are leaving the herd.
"Compounding opposition party misfortunes is what's on the horizon." The Vancouver Olympics, which are poised to be the most successful Olympics in Canuckistanian history, have a chance to be branded the Conservative Olympics and that doesn't bode well for the good guys either.
"So if the cop on the Hill accurately reflects Liberal fortunes today, Michael Ignatieff did not get off with a friendly warning. His party is in arrested development."
Now is the time folks for smart, sentient Canadians to decide whether we want the Conservative-Reform-Republican Party to set the course for the new century or the Big Red Machine.
I think if you take time to reflect, the Harper-Layton coalition is not a positive one for Canada no matter what Dudley Do-Right says.

"the Harper-Layton coalition" ... what an idiotic statement!! You miss the point entirely. The Iggy led Liberals are so close philosophically to the Tories that you can't hold the right wing of your party support and it is leaking to Harper.
