If you wish to see Can a Duh in action just take a look at what is happening in your self centred Nation's capital.
Why should you care, well, here is why. Ottawa is the Nation's Capital, your capital and a disportionate amount of your tax dollars get spent here so you have quite the stake in the town and all the footdragging that goes on here.
The City of Ottawa has been trying to build light rapid transit for over a decade; they have paid out hundreds of millions of dollars but all that the town has to show for it is a train with five stops that goes from an empty patch of land near nothing to almost a shopping centre.
We, and by we I mean the city I live in, we consult every stakeholder, homeowner, citizen's group, student council, professional association and on and on and on. Then we consult them again. And again.
All this bullsh*t has cost the taxpayers of Ottawa about a billion dollars for [almost] nothing.
Ditto Lansdowne Park, the old football stadium and fairgrounds. Adolf Hitler was still alive when they started talking about refurbishing Lansdowne. That is right, they have been discussing Lansdowne since, minimum, the 1940's.
Do something already.
