1241...Irony: Jack Layton, NDP, Anti Tax Warriors

That seems to be how it is playing out.

Speaking to Steven Chase of the Globe and Mail the leader of Canada's perrenial also rans sees the Harmonized Sales Tax, HST, that is being foisted on an unwilling population in both Ontario and British Columbia [Quebec and the Atlantic provinces have HST already, if memory serves] as a key to picking up seats in Ontario and B. C. Mr. Layton tells Mr. Chase, referencing the NDP win in New Westminister Monday last, that "[This] was the first election on the HST," says the NDP Leader, whose party's portion of the riding vote went up eight points from 2008 results. "If it's even worth five points [of vote share], that's worth seats in B.C. and Ontario."

It is just ironic that the party that is percieved as taxers are taking votes from the anti tax Stephen Harpers.
