2169...Ottawa The Quiet

For those of you who are fans/stalkers of the WFDS you are aware that I live on Elgin Street in the heart of your nation's capital Ottawa.

Now Ottawa is not exactly the most exciting city on the planet or the continent or the country.

Think of Omaha with more glitter and brighter lights and you have Ottawa.

Now last night there was a wee hockey game and my street is the epicenter of fandom in the Nation's Capital. Elgin Street, Sens Mile, really was party central all day yesterday and then they dropped the puck at 7 05 Saturday evening.

Ottawa scored once.

Ottawa scored twice.

Ottawa scored three times.

Three zip Senators and the street was alive.

Then Pitt scored once.

Twice.

Thrice.

Overtime.

A third into the overtime the Pittsburghs score to eliminate Ottawa and the town went silent.

No kidding.

I left my apartment 45 minutes after the winning goal and there was no one, as in nobody on the Sens Mile.

It was like someone took the air out of a balloon.

This morning on Elgin Street the mood is funereal.
