Re: The Case Against Helena Guergis, Kelly McParland; The Stupidest Show In Town, Chris Selley, Both April 16.
I take exception to the editorial comments directed at the investigation involving Rahim Jaffer. Attributing the decision by the Crown to withdraw and/or reduces charges to a police mix-up or that "the OPP buggered up the case" unfairly maligns the integrity of all of the men and women of the OPP and officers serving with the OPP Caledon Detachment.
I am confident that the OPP conducted a thorough and detailed investigation in this case and obtained the necessary grounds to lay the charges. Our officers acted in good faith, professionally, and in the best interest of public and officer safety during all aspects of this investigation.
Julian Fantino, Commissioner, Ontario Provincial Police, Orillia, Ont.

So, apparently, it was no one's fault that Mr. Jaffer skated.

Way to step up to the plate no one.
