1191...Someone Call Ripley's Believe It Or Not!

A politican has broken a promise.

And he didn't take long to do it either.

The pol is Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City. Re elected earlier this week, spending, by the way, 100 000 000 of his own hard earned dollars to secure his third term, hizzoner promised that if elected cross town busses [I presume this to be New York language for busses as opposed to taxis] would be free.

Thursday, the day after the day, Mayor B said hold on a minute, my fingers were crossed when I said that. According to the New York Daily News, the paper Archie Bunker favoured, "The 'real issue' at the core of the no-fare proposal was speeding bus travel by reducing time spent boarding passengers, Bloomberg noted." Funny that the "...real issue..." did not come up during the real election.

Thank goodness that we have never had politicans in our great country renege on campaign promises.
