5545...Corporate Welfare

That would be SUN TV.

Their parent company, Quebecor, is whining coz they are losing beaucoup d'argent, forecasting in The Huffington Post "...that Sun TV will lose $19.5 million in 2013, $18.9 million in 2014 and $18.1 million in 2015 — with losses in the tens of millions carrying on each year through to 2020."

Their solution of course is to put on programming that people like, you know like, for example, TSN does, then people will freely give you money and turn that red ink into black.

Wait.  That is not their plan.

No their plan is to plead with the CRTC to put the channel on basic cable which will increase my cable bill by over two bucks a year.  I realize, Pierre Peladeau, by the way I love your wife, Julie Snyder, that that is less than a penny a day but wtf, why does the fact that your peeps cannot program a channel that people want to pay a little bit for my problem?

Corporate welfare.  I thought y'all were against that.

  1. I'm expecting that Ezra Levant will start a new 'grassroots' movement called 'Ethical News'. Because only he, Rupert, Karl and Steve understand the true meaning of ethics.
