1679...Ignatieff Stands Up For Women

Hey, someone has to do it in this country.

This time our next PM is letting our current PM know that he should support safe abortion programs abroad if he is serious about supporting the rights of women.

May I add that Mr. Harper should get on board and support the same in this country; did you know that there are more Senators in PEI than doctors that will perform abortions?

The Toronto Star points out that one group, the Canadian Federation For Sexual Health, has seen its federal money shrink from more than a mill in '06 to less than ten grand this year.

  1. Ignatieff is not standing up for women. He's standing up for feminists.

Ignatieff does not speak for me. Please stop treating women as a monolith. They're not.

The way to save lives is to help women with obstetric care, clean water, nutrition, etc.

    The things they WANT.

  2. The women I know can speak for themselves, thank you. They are strong, smart and independant.

A one million dollar cut in funding to a fringe group is exploited to detract from the billions cut in healthcare spending by Lib gov'ts.That was the real damage done to not just women but all Canadians.

Iggy never used the word abortion. He was too afraid to. He seems to be suggesting that Tubal ligations and even vasectomies should be provided as well. He emphasized "all" contraception.

Do we assume that the aid we are giving to Haiti is not supported by Liberals in this country because Harper refuses to set up abortion clinics there?

  3. Harper wants to focus on the health of the mothers and nutrition of the children at the G8, as we are in Haiti.
    Its called priorities.

  4. I'm curious...

You hear the word" choice" bandied around by the left. But unless a woman was raped or a victim of incest, how did she not have a "choice?"

    Just wondering...
