5160...Homeless Dude Dies Owing 33,000 In TDot

It is in this morning's Toronto Star online.  The fellow's name is Larry Quinn and he just up and died at the age of 66 on the street in downtown Toronto August 22 of a massive heart attack.  No assistance was offered coz folks thought he was sleeping on the job so to speak.

Mr. Quinn accumulated 33 large in fines under Ontario's Safe Streets Act, an act that the evil Mike Harris brought in to harass poor people who are begging.  An act that the Liberals haven't bothered repealing, presumably coz it fits their mandate.  r some other form of bureaucratic political gooblygoop.  It is not a revenue generator.  "Numbers obtained through Freedom of Information requests and published in a study last year by The Homeless Hub show Toronto police issued 15,324 tickets under the Safe Streets Act in 2010. Police couldn’t provide the number of tickets issued in 2011 by deadline."  Only a tad over 12 large was been collected province wide in 2011.  But you gotta know that it f's up a lot of poor people's welfare, ODSP and tax returns.

The war on the poor continues.

The best solution to collecting fines from folks like Mr. Quinn comes in the form of one of the comments to The Star piece.  To wit

Let's cut up the homeless and sell body parts to pay off their debts. Based on a survey published in Wired magazine, bone marrow can fetch $23 million USD (1,000 grams @ $23,000/gram.). DNA can fetch $9.7 million. Antibodies can bring $7.3 million. A lung is worth $116,400, a kidney $91,400 and a heart $57,000. Snip, snip debt paid, blood AND transplant organ shortage fixed in one shot. Bonus!
