This is now and now the Economist, a magazine with a circulation of about 1.4 mill, half of them living on my side of the Atlantic, is not so sure about The Great White North.
"Harper goes prorogue." was/is the title of the mags scathing editorial attacking our beloved Prime Minister's self interested suspension of Parliament.
The Economist is no Liberal rag either; they endorsed Mr. Harper both in 2006 and 2008.
Quoted in today's Moncton Times and Transcript, Liberal front bencher Gerard Kennedy says that the fact that the story of Mr. Harper pro roguing the House brings Canada into "...international disrepute."
It just totally sucks, that is what, just totally sucks.

I'm not a fan of the prorogue, be it Conservative or Liberal, but I also don't care what the Economist says either. They can mind their own business.
ReplyDeleteI believe they're the ones who coined the "Mr. Dithers" phrase for Paul Martin, too.
