1519...Gardening And Robbery Don't Mix

When robbing a drugstore, don't stop on the way in to tell an employee on a smoke break what you're doing. And don't ask if he wants anything for himself. And try to carry a more imposing weapon than a garden hose nozzle.

That is the headline in yesterday's Indianapolis Star announcing that non Mensa member Dustin Abney, 27, faces preliminary charges of robbery and criminal confinement. He is being held on $200,000 bond at the Marion County Jail.

What our hero did is listed above; what our hero will be doing is ten to life in the Indiana State Penitentary. They don't play in the Hoosier state. One of the worst armed robbers in history, he never made it out of the CVS drug store he was allegedly robbing.

    Surely he will get a reprieve if he explains why the garden hose nozzle was his weapon of choice - does he have a history of dry garden disasters? could he be rehabilitated by joining a community garden project? I will be worrying about this all night now.
