Like father, like son. The getting drafted thing.
Rhett Bollinger reports in MLB.com that there is one huge difference: Unlike 1967, the champion is happy about the draft of his son Asaad Ali, a 5-foot-10, 224-pound catcher in round 40 of the major league baseball draft this week. Mr. Ali, who is a senior at Niles (Mich.) High School, was drafted by the Los Angeles Orange County California Anaheim Angels.
A sidebar, baseball leaves no stone unturned, drafting thousands of players. Example thereof would be the greatest hitting catcher of all time, Mike Piazza, who went to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 62nd round in 1988.
