3500...No Election In The Spring Of 11

Ain't gonna happen.

The Toronto Star says that "NDP Leader Jack Layton will undergo hip surgery Friday, a development that could throw in doubt the timing of a spring federal election..."

No matter what Kathleen Monk, director of communications for the NDP, says, and she says that the Dippers are ready for battle, it is pretty tough to bang on doors and do your electoral thing when you are hurting like Mr. Layton is.

I say fall of 11.

  1. Six to eight weeks of recovery, but he's already walking. The doctors want him to stay active, too.
If FDR could campaign from a wheelchair, then....

  2. Interesting point of view of the NDP position, but Harper might not playball. He could create a budget which no party will support, or he could do what he did last tiime, and just call an election (ignoring his own election law)

  3. I hope you're wrong. We need an election if only to get almost identical results and to allow each of the parties to get rid of their tired leaders and start anew. NEED NEW FACES NOW!
