A source of mine who works in the street people industry told me over coffee yesterday that nine, 9, nine people died of heroin overdoses in your capital in January and February of this year.
Nine.
OMG.
I am told they were all street [non] people and that, combined with the fact that Anglo media in Ottawa is pretty weak on all levels, these deaths have not had any impact outside a small circle of friends.
What makes it even more shocking is they all died a short walk, say 20 minutes, from both Parliament Hill and Chez Stephen Harper at 24 Sussex.
Another source told me in mid February that the area next to Arts Court, 2 Daly, right next to the Rideau Centre includes an alley that the locals call Heroin Alley.
