Daniel LeBlanc writes a story in the Tuesday edition of the Globe and Mail that is states that the 18 year old Quebec party is starting to show its age.
I am sure that many of us have thought that at some point the Bloc Quebecois has to achieve its goal, independence for the province of Quebec, or cease to exist. Right now, in my humble opinion, although the BQ represents the interest of Quebec citizens, the party that grew out of Brian Mulroney's Conservative Party back in the day, is stagnant.
Not hating, just stating.

i think most BQ voters know their party is stagnant - they just feel they don't have much of a choice these days! :(
ReplyDeleteThe BQ does not represent the interests of Quebec. They are only concerned about the interests of the majority group in Quebec and primarily with the subject of independence.
ReplyDeleteThe BQ could not and cannot (in the foreseeable future anyways) help Que. acheive the goal of independence. They have to shelve their primary objective of their existence.
They can never govern (Coalition deal from January notwithstanding).
Why bother?
Actually, it's what to do about the Liberals....I've been an ardent back of Ignatieff but he's clearly not catching on. What exactly is Donolo meant to be doing in repositioning? Are we going to see something meaningful before xmas or do we have to wait for this "Thinkers" conference in 2010?
