October 16th is the big day at McGill, the prestigious Montreal university that will confer an honourary degree on President William Clinton.
Fark.com comments that the honourary degree comes with a lifetime supply of poutine, a stripper of his choice and one free drink at The Village (good Monday to Thursday, 4-6 pm).
Ironically, reports the Canadian Press, President Clinton will make the trip just before another ex-president heads to Montreal. His successor, George W. Bush, will deliver a speech several days later at the city’s Queen Elizabeth hotel.

924...George W. Bush Costs You Money
The former POTUS is reaping the money, money that is shoved in the wallets of former United State's presidents after they leave office.
He is also costing you, a tax payer in a country that is not his country, money.
Like the one before him, Bill Clinton, President Junior is on the speaker's circuit looking to pick up a few shekels here and there.
Unlike President Clinton, President G. W. Bush attracts an unruly crowd who seem to think he is some sort of war criminal. Bill Curry in the Globe and Mail this morning reports that this is costing you beaucoup d'argent.
Security for President Bush is going to run in the half million dollar range this year. When he appeared in Toronto it cost over 100 k to protect him from harm; same town, same venue, same time for President Clinton and the cost was a tenth of that.
Libby Davies, NDP MP from British Columbia "...said private-sector firms are likely making money from these events and should be helping the government with the security costs."
Yes they should.

374...Sex And The Governor
I was reading Columbia, South Carolina's paper of record, The State, http://www.thestate.com/, just to find out what Steve Spurrier was doing when this story jumped out.
OMG.
The Governor of the Palmetto State, Mark Stanford, was away without leave for an entire week and it turns out he was in Buenos Aires, Argentina chilling with Maria, his girlfriend. A girlfriend his wife, four kids and the state he purports to lead, were unaware of.
As a sidebar, when he was a Congressman he voted in favour of impeaching President Bill Clinton, citing the need for "moral legitimacy".
Do as I say, not as I do.
Amazing story, can you see Stephen Harper, Dalton McGuinty or Jean Charest vanishing for a week to visit a girly girl in a far away land?
It may be wrong but it sure is interesting.
