Fallen down, fallen down.
And it wasn't because Mike Duffy sat on it; it just fell.
It landed everywhere too. The Ottawa Sun Saturday had a list of places where parts of the big barrier ended up.
Fittingly chunks of the wall ended up on the grounds of cold warrior President Ronald Reagan's library in Simi Valley, California. There are also pieces of the wall outside the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France and out side the European Union Parliament in Brussels.

I was in Berlin in 1985.It would have been foolish to have believed at that time that in just 4 years it would be gone.
ReplyDeleteTo the above commenter: wow, what an experience to have been there at that time, particularly in retrospect now with all that has happened ;-)
ReplyDeleteSVKM;
ReplyDeleteYes it was quite an experience. I was a young guy touring Europe with a bus tour for young people.It was a blast.
At the time it was cool to see the wall but I did not consider it a highlight of the trip.It was only when the wall came down did I recognize how lucky I was to see it.
