He has moved to my favourite American city, the 'cuse.
The Associated Press moved the story this morning that the former Barenaked Ladies singer and his girlfriend have bought a four bedroom house next door to the place they were both arrested 12 months ago for cocaine possession.
The Very Important Persons Act was invoked and charges against Mr. Page and his girly friend Christine Benedicto were dismissed in April.
The house in Fayetteville, New York, cost 265 000 USD.
265 in Syracuse gets you a house that would cost around a million in Mr. Page's hometown of Toronto. Plus he will be able to go see the Orange play at the Carrier Dome all the frigging time.
That is why I hate Stephen Page.

350...Jessica Alba Says She Is Sorry
About the whale sticker thingy, Posts 258 and 267, June, 2009.
T'get you up to date, she was bored in Oklahoma City [as if], where she is shooting a flick called The Killer Inside Me and, as newsok.com reported she was photographed vanadalizing the town by gluing save the great white shark stickers on public property.
A no no.
Especially that far inland.
Charges were threatened, the Very Important Person's Act was put in play, Miss Alba applied cash to the situation, in the form of a donation of over 500 but not more than 9999.99 dollars to the United Way of Central Oklahoma.
Case closed.

267...Told You So/Was Right/Jessica Alba
I am psychic, I am, for about an hour ago Entertainment Weekly sent me an email which I quote verbatim:
Whilst they were contemplating charges I, the World Famous Dan Shields, went out on a limb and stated on the record that "They won't, under the Very Important Person's Act, celebrities in celebrity free cities are given a pass on stupid stuff, but they are considering laying charges. Strongly considering laying charges. Charges that they, of course, won't lay." They won't being the operative words here.

Jessica Alba has been officially let off the hook by the owners of the Oklahoma City properties she allegedly defaced with posters aimed at raising awareness of the dwindling numbers of Great White sharks. Though local police say they are continuing to investigate the incident, proprietors of properties directly affected told the Associated Press that they have "little interest in pursuing criminal charges." Earlier this week, Alba issued an apology for her role in the campaign.

258...Hotties In The News, I = Jessica Alba
So, Jessica, how was your trip to Oklahoma City? Do anything fun? Different? Dumb?
The answer, apparently is yes, yes and yes.
I ventured onto the news site http://newsok.com/ and who pops up? Jessica Alba! She is in OKC to film a film, The Killer Inside Me, and in her off time she is doing a little vandalism/activism.
Last week, Jessica Alba plastered posters of a great white shark across different spots in downtown Oklahoma City. She did it all to bring awareness to the dwindling great white shark population. Which must be especially small in a non existent way in landlocked Oklahoma.
She made a key error when she let an online shark conservation blog post photos of her Albaness gluing a great white shark poster to an underpass, which is railroad property, and another photo of her posing in front of a shark poster that was placed on a United Way billboard. A bit of posturing is happening as I write this and the OKC Police are considering laying felony charges against Miss Alba. They won't, under the Very Important Person's Act, celebrities in celebrity free cities are given a pass on stupid stuff, but they are considering laying charges. Strongly considering laying charges. Charges that they, of course, won't lay. In a calmer voice, OKC United Way officials said it would cost $235 to put up a new shark-free billboard, but they said Alba’s attorney gave them the impression she would be making a donation to the local charity. For $236. And then it will all go away.
