1386...At Least They Are Not Governing By Polls

They being Gordon Campbell, Liberal Premier of British Columbia, Dalton McGuinty, Liberal boss of Ontario and the man himself, Stephen Harper, Tory Grand Puba of Canada.

With strong support from Michael Ignatieff, the next PM of this great land I may add.

The subject which I refer to is the Harmonized Sales Tax, HST, which Canwest News Service's Andrew Mayeda tells us is sooooooo unpopular according to results of the latest poll.

"Eighty-two per cent of British Columbians and 74 per cent of Ontarians oppose the tax, according to the Ipsos Reid survey, commissioned by Canwest News Service and Global National."

Despite the fact that the governments at both levels insist that the HST will benefit consumers, the people ain't buying it. In fact only three per cent of Ontarioioioians think the tax will work to their benefit.

Strong leaders do strong things.
