815...Elizabeth May Deathwatch V.2

In response to Post 812 Elizabeth May Deathwatch I recieved this thoughful reply:

Well than, the libs need to stand down (like they did in Nova Scotia) and give May a free ride.
Or is running as a liberal the only alternative you had in mind?

Thanks for the comment but let's face it, the Liberals stood down in Central Nova and Elizabeth May got her head handed to her.

Ditto in Saanich-Gulf Islands. One on one Gary Lunn would destroy her.

It is fairly obvious to me that if after, as the Globe and Mail's Bill Curry reported earlier this week that the riding was selected "...after extensive party polling and research..." as the best chance for the Green Party leader it means that she has no chance anywhere in Canada.

Personally I think she is trying to position herself for the cash for life sinecure of the Senate of Canada.

763...I Made An Error

Unforced error.

In Post 746 I pointed out that the saving grace of Jacques Demers becoming a Senator is that it will take him off the Habs broadcasts on RDS.

According to yesterday's Ottawa Sun I was wrong. His bosses are willing to work around his arduous schedule as a Senator or, more likely, his job as a Senator is going to take a back seat to commentating on hockey games.

746...I Want In The Senate

Why not?

I am qualified.

As in I have no qualifications.

Case in point: Jacques Demers. TVA reports that Mr. Demers, former Stanley Cup winning coach for the Montreal Canadiens, has been appointed to the Cash For Life position of Senator.

On the plus side, this will get him off the Montreal Canadiens broadcasts and that has to be a good thing.
