2239...Parliament See Parliament Do

It is widely reported that millions of British voters are headed to polling stations today to cast their ballots in a general election that is widely expected to be the closest race in years.

More than 44 million people have registered to vote in the general election, in which voters will be asked to pick both MPs for the 650-seat U.K. Parliament and a number of local authorities.

Labour Prime Minister Gordon Brown is fighting an uphill battle in his bid to win re-election, with the latest polls suggesting that neither Prime Minister Brown nor Conservative Leader David Cameron will win the number of seats needed to form a majority government.

One poll suggested that as many as 40 per cent of British voters were undecided, and many analysts have suggested that the U.K. could be facing its first minority, or "hung," Parliament in 36 years.

Sounds a bit like the colonies, eh?
