Radio Canada, CBC French, did not have ongoing coverage of the Larry O'Brien verdict; I reiterate that the only over the air station in the Capital that had ongoing coverage of this important trial was the much maligned CFRA.

Daniel LeBlanc in this morning's Globe and Mail reports that Denis Coderre, the Quebec Member of Parliament for the Liberals, becomes a cultural icon/target this fall on the Radio-Canada [that is CBC's French TV, I know, why is it not TV Canada? Here's why, it is based in Montreal, where the South Shore is East of the City.] hit show Et Dieu créa … Laflaque. The show is an homage to the British program Spitting Image.

The program runs at 7:30 Sunday nights on RadCan and draws an average of 800,000 viewers.

The title is derived from the 1956 French film And God Created Woman starring Brigitte Bardot, with Mr. Laflaque being a fictional anchorman.

Self important haters of free speech and comedy experts, think of the Bruno Kirby character on Good Morning Vietnam, the CSBC, have determined that Radio-Canada "...was wrong to show a skit that joked about the possible assassination of President Barack Obama and suggested he could be a thief..." in its December 31, 2008 Bye Bye show reports Reuters via Yahoo News yesterday.

Radio Canada received 200 complaints about the program, presumably from viewers who were too shocked to find the remote and do what most people do when they don't like something on TV. Change the f'ing channel.

Freedom of speech is overrated.
