The Carleton Ravens, last year's CIS basketball champions, and winners of six of the last seven championships in the CIS, played St. John's University today at Carleton.
Carleton had a four point lead at the half but couldn't hit a shot for the first ten minutes of the second and ended up losing by 17.
But, but, but, where were the Carleton University cheerleaders?
Cheerleaders, cheer squads, dance teams, mascots: they are all a big part of the university sports experience.
So where oh where were the CU cheerleaders?
Well, never ask a question without knowing the answer is what my dad always said.
They, the CU cheerleaders, who, by the way, are terrible in that Special Olympics way, were at the PetroCan on the corner of Bronson and Gladstone holding signs asking those of us who like cheerleaders to honk.
Bit of dilemma there because the Carleton cheerleaders are to cheerleading what the Washington Generals are to basketball.
