899...The Next Prime Minister Speaks The Truth

The Canadian Press reports that in a speech to the Toronto Board of Trade earlier Monday the next Prime Minister of Canada said that upon taking office he would open the books and conduct a full audit of public finances.

Michael Ignatieff said that the Conservatives have made a mess of Canada's economy and that his party will be the one to clean it up.

After four years of Stephen Harper's Conservative reign of error Mr. Ignatieff suggests that we ask the question "Are we better off than we were four years ago?''

  1. How many years back will this audit go? The Canadian Wheat Board, the Gun Registry and Chretien's secret 9 billion off shore trust accounts would be a very good place to start.

The Liberals have been fighting NOT to allow the wheat board to be audited and in fact tried to take the conservatives to court to prevent this.

Lots of Canadians, especially western farmers, would like an audit NOW.

And the Liberals blocked allowing an audit or any accountability of the 11 billion given annually to first nations. Why???? Does the taxpayer not need to know where that money is going?

So, yup, bring it on - no exceptions. We need three or four Sheila Frasers.

  2. My, my - the cowardly Anon is all over the blogosphere with this BS.

Harper's plan was to empty the shelves in an attempt to attack Liberals (Canadians don't matter) - now we have nothing to work with. So, Anon, you think this kind of petty and mean tactic is okay?

You see, one would have to find out what is left to work with.......cause Harper's a really expensive PM.

  3. Our next Prime Minister isn't saying this as he'll have a problem being elected, then he'll be gone again. Opposition can always criticize but the hard part is living up to what you criticized the government about when you're elected...

Anyway, what track record do the Liberals have again, I mean the good kind...

I think we're in the blue, not in the red.

    Think about it...
