Reason of course is China wants to boost the labor force and since they don't have those pesky child labour laws they will be able to boost the force in five years, six max if this law goes through.
The fly in the ointment, according to the USA Today, is that the hotness of China's economy has not trickled down to the working class and the working class is having enough trouble with one child let alone two.
Think of the probs we have with our relatively small pop of 33 mill; China has like a zillion people and that causes a zillion problems.
So eliminated or not, the one child policy seems to be engrained in the culture of China.

ReplyDeleteSorry to question you, but what are you basing this on? I have visited mainland China many times, and in my conversations with the folks across the great pond, I have found many that would not mind at least 2 children.
