2070...Bob Rae-Stephen Harper Coalition

The Montreal Gazette reports that Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Liberal MP Bob Rae united to help raise 80 of the 210K needed to pay for a life-sized statue of legendary jazz pianist Oscar Peterson that will be installed beside Ottawa's National Arts Centre on June 30 as part of the Canada Day celebrations in your Nation's Capital.

The statue will depict Peterson seated at a grand piano.

"The idea is, any passerby could come to (that corner) and sit down at the piano with Oscar Peterson and 'play' a duet," said NAC director of communications, Rosemary Thompson.
