That is the plan put forward by Stephen Harper appointed Senator Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu. The Globe and Mail reports that the Senator, who is the founding president of the Murdered or Missing Persons’ Families Association, a group he established after his 27-year-old daughter, Julie, was abducted, raped and murdered by a repeat offender in 2002, believes that “Each assassin should have the right to a rope in his cell to make a decision about his or her life,” told reporters ahead of a meeting of the Conservative caucus on Wednesday.
The beauty of this plan is that it is both insane and p*ssed the Dippers off at the same time. Nycole Turmel and the NDP made this an issue during Question Period, wasting, as is their wont, everyone's time on red herrings.
