The note being a reference to Post 1058's end quote from Lord Moran on the Canadian political system:

"Little ideology. Excessive patronage. Poor quality of politicians. They look after each other."

Jennifer Ditchburn of the Canadian Press reports that a Montreal firm landed a federal stimulus contract while a top Tory organizer, Senator Leo Housakos was on the payroll. The prez of the company Senator Housakos works for, BPR Inc., Pierre Lavallee is registered as having donated $250 to the Conservative party eight days after his company got work from the Tories.

That of course is the upside of campaign donation limits; at those prices anyone can afford to pay and play.
