Friends: man killed in garbage bin had wanderlust
Associated Press out of Billings, Montana reports that a 22-year-old man from Maine found dead in a Billings garbage truck was a talented poet full of wanderlust who dropped out of college to experience the world.
Talented, perhaps, smart, not so much.
Billings Police say that Adam Davis likely climbed into the garbage bin in Billings last Saturday with his sleeping bag to shield himself from subfreezing temperatures. He died after a garbage truck emptied the bin and crushed its contents.
Mr. Davis, from Orono, Maine, had been traveling across the country with few possessions.
Friends and relatives say that he was on his way to work on an organic farm in Oregon and planned to be there for Christmas. They describe him as an intelligent person, then again actions speak louder than words.
