In one story, headlined "Many Unaware Of Home Renovation Tax Break" he points out that a federal home renovation tax credit, credit installed by the government earlier this year to juice up the small businesses that dominate the renovation industry, a credit worth as much as $1,350 to individual homeowners, is not as well known as one would think.
In another article, "Tax Credit Spurs Renos", on the same page, Mr. Kurch writes that the home reno business is booming in the Manitoba capital.
So, those that do know, know and are taking advantage.
Renovators and retailers say the federal government should do more to promote the tax credit, which is available for only the 2009 income tax year.
I say renovators and retailers should do more to promote the tax credit.
