Uh, doh, that is why they are R rated.
Anyhow, some parents don't get it and let their little darlings watch R rated flicks.
And that is a bad thing according to a study that is going to be published in the May issue of The Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs reported on last week. The study from Dartmouth Medical School surveyed 3,600 middle school kids and found out that only three per cent of the little darlings of parents who did not allow their kids to watch R rated flicks started drinking in junior high; 19 per cent of the kids who got to watch R rated movies hit the bottle in J High.
It seems to be a monkey see, monkey do kind of thing. The grown ups on TV are drinking, smoking, whatever so it must be cool.
