According to a press release I received from Dennis Mills, the Prez and CEO of Racing Future Incorporated, Premier Kathleen Wynne of Ontario is not going to be pulling the slots out of three more tracks. They are Fort Erie, Flamboro Downs and Georgian Downs.
"Together with the earlier March 8 announcement of completed transition funding agreements with the Woodbine, Mohawk, Clinton, Hanover, London and Grand River tracks, this brings to nine the number of racetracks that have been given a new lease on life by the Wynne government..." Hey I hope they help out Ottawa's own Rideau Carleton too.
But.
The only thing that can save horse racing is the calendar. It has to be turned back to 1934.
