Seriously your capital, my hometown, Ottawa, has to be the mellowest big city on the planet. The news reflects that. Back in the day the late and lamented Frank Magazine usta call The Ottawa Citizen The Petfinder coz it ran so many stories about animals.
Flash forward to this very day and one of the lead stories on 580CFRA, the dominant newser in town, is about a puppy that ended up in the middle of the scary, truly, Rideau River and had to be rescued by the fire department.
How cute is that, eh?
