5735...Free Condoms Equal Trip To Riker's Island

Anyone who has watched Law and Order knows about Riker's Island.

Here is the deal, according to The Village Voice, do gooders in many big cities, including Ottawa, give away condoms for free.  I know I take advantage of that; saves me close to four dollars a year.  They also give them away so sex workers, also known as hos, don't get sick.

Great idea.

Except in New York City the cops are using poss of multiple free condoms, condoms that the New York Department of Health rightfully gives to prostitutes, as probable cause for arresting sex workers for being just that.



It is, as my sainted mom would say, a double edged sword.  Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
