At least when it comes to hockey as in they put hockey first and politics second.
Grabbed this from today's Ottawa Sun:
“Financial issues trump the development of the game for them,” [Commissioner] Medvedev [of the KHL] told the official website of Barys Astana, the only Kazakh club in the KHL. “At the same time, this will all hit their pockets anyway.”
If some rich dude steps up the NHL could be no more.
