My Facebook friend and old school journo Ray Heard decried the event for a number of reasons, not the least being the segregation, Mr. Heard calls it gender apartheid, of the men and women.
My Facebook and real world friend Julien Feldman posted this:
Julien Feldman The speech shows that JT's plan is essentially an effort to revive the Laurier strategy, displacing Harper's conservative appeal to immigrant Canadians with a more moderate appeal. That's how he displaced Sir John A., but more importantly, that's how Paul Martin sought to win and and hold power. That also explains JT's continuing drift to the right. Is this JT's watershed moment?
