1249...Weighty Issues In Edmonton

Hey, if you are like the WFDS you know how hard it is to lose weight, especially if, like me, your hobbies are sitting and eating.

Double the effort, I have been told, for women over the age of thirty.

There is a thirty four year old lady in Edmonton who has to drop 1,000 pounds in the next year. Her name is Lucy and her doc, Dr. Milton Ness, told the Edmonton Journal that she has to take it easier on carbs and exercise a whole lot more to achieve her goal. The doc says that the way they are going to cut back on the carbs, and I should do this for true, is by knocking down the amount of fruit the pachyderm packs in on a daily basis.

Lucy's digs are also going to be made more elephant exercise friendly, more sand specifically, but the zoo's decision to keep her in the Alberta capital has been the subject of some controversy, drawing criticism from animal rights groups such as ZooCheck and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Critics say she should be moved to an elephant sanctuary down south. The zoo counters that by saying moving Lucy will kill her, because she can't breathe well when she is under stress.

Of course lawyers have been consulted on both sides.
