Danny Williams' government has decided that roadkill is off the menu for charitable organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Canadian Press reports that back in the day, the day being pre 2009, wildlife officers would donate moose schmucked in highway collisions to charities who would burgerize them and have a couple of moose burger bbqs with the proceeds.
"Normall you get a least two moose burger sales out of one moose...anywhere from $2,500 to $3,000 [in revenue]." said Shane Budgell, president of the Lion's Club in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Kathy Dunderdale, Natural Resources Minister say that it is all about health, not about burning charities. Still.
